MAY 11 Today we celebrate The Most Illustrious Salvador Dali, born in Catalonia on this day in 1904. A leader of the Surrealism movement, his most famous piece is The Persistence of Memory, completed in 1931. Its melting clocks and human “monster” figure are used to recreate a dreamlike state for the viewer.
